Environmental Sustainability
We at Sudima Hotels New Zealand take our environmental and
social responsibilities very seriously. We continually strive to
ensure our hotel procedures are friendly to the environment and to
the welfare of our staff. Our local communities are also important
to us and we support their sustainability initiatives whenever
possible.
Our active management plan for the environment includes:
- Commitment to training and awareness of all team members in
relation to Sudima Hotels' environmental and social improvement
philosophy
- Ongoing development of environmentally-friendly procedures
- Consultation with all Sudima Hotels team members to foster
ideas and awareness of the need to be a sustainable business
- Implementation of new policies at Sudima Hotels, as a result of
consultation and research
- Ongoing commitment to OSH and ACC responsibilities as required
by law and the need for a safe work environment
- Engagement of suppliers to commit to sustainable practices and
products
- Employment from within the local communities which Sudima
Hotels operate within as much as possible, and a commitment to
developing this resource
- Utilisation of local suppliers
and contractors wherever possible
- Annual Green Globe benchmarking and Qualmark rating
- Raising of environmental and social issues at a local level
(where applicable)
- Raising awareness among our hotel guests of our commitment to
being sustainable
- Support of community initiatives aimed at sustainable use of
the region's resources
