Hell's Gate is an award-winning geothermal reserve. Named by
famous playwright George Bernard Shaw, who, upon taking in its
2.5kms of boiling mud and hot water pools, proclaimed that it must
indeed be the gateway to Hell.
Located within Hell's Gate is the Kakahi Falls - the largest hot waterfall
in the Southern Hemisphere - an Inferno - with 5 geothermally
active pools with temperatures reaching 110ºC.
