ROTORUA MUSEUM - TE WHARE TAONGA O TE
Visit the excellent Rotorua Museum to hear the stories that have
shaped the past and present of our region. The Rotorua Museum is
located in the architecturally iconic and world-famous Bath House.
Exhibitions include the violent and devastating eruption of Mount
Tarawera, the fascinating story of B Company 28 Maori Battalion in
World War II and a stunning exhibition of ancient taonga
(treasures) of the Maori people.
The 'Rotorua Stories' cinematic experience is one aspect of the
museum that you must see. CGI technology brings our fascinating and
turbulent past to life, while surround-sound puts you right in each
dramatic scene. This cinema experience runs every 20 minutes.
